BistoCon 2023 will be held at the La Quinta Inn and Suites Detroit Metro Airport (in beautiful Romulus, Michigan), the same site as our previous four in person BistoCons. Their address is 30847 Flynn Dr, Romulus, MI 48174.
Hotel Details
Each room is equipped with minifridge, microwave, and free wifi. The televisions have HDMI, USB and RCA jacks.
Their free breakfast bar is 5:30-9:30am and has yogurt, muffins, fruits, waffles, bagels, toast, coffees, teas, and more. There’s a Bob Evans next door, a McDonalds and Big Boy a little farther away, and the Hop Union pub at the nearby Sheraton hotel.
The hotel has a (smallish) fitness center and a plane schedule monitor near the lobby where you can check your flight status. The hotel has a 24/7 mini-market that sells Healthy Choice meals for one, Chimichangas, Red Baron pizza singles, Hot Pockets, chips, juices, soda, ice cream, and the usual range of sweets.
The hotel runs a free shuttle to and from the airport and will take visitors to restaurants within a mile of the hotel. There is also plenty of parking. You’ll find plenty of comfy places to sit and hang out in the lobby, where you’ll also usually find free coffee and iced water.
Airport and Local Transit Information
Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW) has two terminals. Delta, Air France and KLM operate from McNamara Terminal; all other airlines operate from the Evans Terminal.

To get to the shuttle from either terminal, follow the “Ground Transportation” signs. If you arrive at the airport near a mealtime, consider having a meal at the gates, since the food selection is much larger than after you are through baggage claim. Restaurant options vary based on whether you land at Evans or McNamara terminal and include:
